Questioning

This week we will be focusing on a Reading Strategy called Questioning.

We will be asking questions while we read to better help us with our understanding of both our independent novels and our class novel When my name was Keoko.

Some questions we had today were:

How did Tae-yul know that Uncle was alive and still working for the resistance?

How does Sun-hee feel now that Tae-yul has left for the army?

Dear Students

Dear Students,
We had a wonderful week at school. We have continued to read When My Name was Keoko and have discovered that Tae-yul is joining the Japanese Army. Omoni is heart broken and Abuji is outraged by his decision. Sun-hee calls her brother a pig head. But at the end of Ch.21 Tae-yul tells Sun-hee that Uncle is still alive and working for the resistance. How does he know this?

For homework this weekend, continue to read for 30 minutes each night and complete your novel reflection(s). If you are in 7A you need to complete a Journal entry for Monday's class.

Enjoy your weekend and your novels.

Happy Reading!!
Miss Patrice
